Both the tube and the goggles are produced in a special way in order to improve the waterproof qualities of the product:
Tube: The tube's power supply is produced from a totally isolating material. The entire image intensifier tube (including power supply) is being dried at +50?C. While hot the tube is assembled with the power supply, using hermetically sealed materials. The entire assembly is dried again for 10 hours, at +50?C, while the power supply is less than 2.8 V voltages.
Binoculars: The unit is using an enhanced design eyepieces and objective assembly. All connections contain waterproof gaskets. Special gaskets are installed between moving parts. The gaskets are made from a special rubber, providing sealing in -60?C to + 80?C range. While assembling the unit nitrogen gas is filled under a 1.2 atm pressure. This prevents internal fogging of the optical surfaces.
